Why? Why would you have felt the need to say this? Why, I ask you? We're not in the habit of counting wings, but when you actually say something like this to us, you give us no choice. The ones that remained ended up in the trash.

I KNOW, it's sick! The dude looked guilty, which is really why I bothered counting. I'm totally grossed out. I know all kinds of things happen in restaurant kitchens, which is why I'm always polite to servers; so I operate by the unwritten rule that if you don't tell me what just happened to my food (Anyone see the movie Waiting?), I won't ask.
So were you short of wings?
Now, I would not have thrown them out but then again I was raised on a farm. I have no illusions about what I am eating. :)
I always chuckle at vegetarians, vegans in particular, oh if they only had an inkling of how many animals per acre go through a combine. Tofu is animal free!? BWUH HA-HA-HA. You wish! I will stop there.
Rob: Yes, there was a wing-deficiency, and although I didn't see him eat any, he just had a look about him-- coupled with his comment. It was too much to ignore.
You say that you wouldn't have thrown them out because you have no illusions about what you're eating... but it wasn't that I don't know what I ordered to eat, it was more that I don't know who was eating what I ordered. Besides, had you seen the delivery guy, you might have been of a different opinion! :)
Oh...wow. I don't even know what to say to that! But I probably wouldn't have been as nice you. Sometimes I can't stop the Jersey in me.
I never even thought about this before but I bet it happens ALL THE TIME. Ugh.
