Recently I did the idiotic thing of attempting a Tae Bo workout and it about killed me DEAD. I remembered why I stopped using that particular DVD a couple of years ago as soon as the music came on. Billy Blanks is, I'm convinced, from hell.
Having said that, the other day I read a rumor that Nintendo Wii might come out with a new fitness game; "Carmen Electra's Pole Dancing". I laughed for about 2 minutes before I actually started wondering when it's coming out.
I'm not sure what that says on the state of my current fitness goals.
The polar opposite of Tae Bo; Carmen teaches Ellen the easiest workout ever, besides napping.

OHMIGOSH! That was hilarious! I can so picture you and your Purple Heaven practicing Carmen's workout. Be careful not to injure yourself.
Um, I'd just say 'no' to Billy.
Go, Jules!
The video is hysterical. Tae Bo is very un-hysterical. I tried Tae Bo once and I also thought I was going to die.
OMG, I lol at that video! That would so be me trying to do those exercises. Did you hear they are bringing a new exercise game to Wii..something like WiiFit. Can't wait till it hits the stores!
@Melly: YES, that would SO be me in my purple heaven! I will definitely "warm up" before I start, don't worry!
@SaunteringSoul: Tao Bo makes me both want to cry AND kick Billy Blanks in the crotch.
@Melissa: Yes, I did hear about the WiiFit, and I was serious about that rumored pole dancing "game", too! The rumors are all out there... I guess it's up to Nintendo to approve something like that. In the meantime, I'll be working out like she showed Ellen. There will be a lot of pillow hugging.
I totally want WiiFit.
Billy Blanks? nuh-uh. I don't believe in killing myself while trying to stay fit.
I bought DDR for our Playstation, but it's just too darn hard to keep up with!
Wii boxing is a great workout!
Screw Billy Blanks....my knees hurt everytime I try to tae bo! It's a great workout if you're already super-fit, but for a beginner? Hell to the no!
That right there may be about the stupidest workout I have ever seen. Well, unless I'm on the bed as well. I'll run it past Lindsey.
@MisSis: It's SO much fun to watch DDR, though. Heh.
@Jen: Who you callin' a beginner? :) And you can screw Billy Blanks all you want. His wife just divorced him!
@Spammon: It may be stupid but it sure is HILARIOUS. Offer yourself up to Linds as the "pillow" part of this workout!
Didn't mean YOU were a beginner....Really, he's on the market now? Hmmmmmmmm.....!!!!
I'm going to have to write the dissenting opinion. I LOVE Tae Bo. It's one of the few workouts that I have stuck to with any consistency. I love that it kicks my ass. And though I'm probably not one, it makes me feel like a badass. Pole dancing is by far the lamest workout idea I have ever heard of. Leave it to Carmen Whorelecktra to market it. Love Ellen though. That was priceless. And P.S. Maybe the Cabo guys are too hot for full-sized pictures. Maybe I was being a true friend and trying to minimize the impact. Ha ha ;)
Carmen's workout isn't so special. I do that workout once or twice a day. Three if it's the weekend. ;)
Billy Blanks was spawned in a lab for the purpose of inflicting pain upon unsuspecting people. Tae Bo: It ain't right and it ain't okay. The warden tried it and said it was no big deal. Dude, you have abs of steal and I'd rather drink a Margarita.
The Wii pole thing reminds of the pole toy they marketed to little girls a few years ago. Wonder if you get a pair of lucite heels thrown in for free.
I <3 Ellen. She's always been freakin' hysterical!
I bought a fitness "game" for Xbox once. Did it all of three times before I realized I was going to seriously hurt myself with all the stuff falling off my walls while doing the freakin' jumping jacks they wanted me to do. I hear Wii Fit is much better...
I love DDR, in fact I just started doing ti again to the chagrin of my knees. If you put it on beginner, it's pretty easy to keep up...well, for me anyway ;)
I'd look like Carmen Electra too if I had personal trainers. And a pole.
@Troop Jen: I know you know I'm no beginner. You practically taught me everything I know! .. and oh yes, Billy is all yours, baby.
@Stacey: Two words: You would! As for the pole workout, I am intrigued, in a giggly, funny, OMG before I get THAT going I need to install a dimmer switch and a mirror ball in my bedroom. Having actually seen one photo of the Cabo guys I must agree with you. Hot. Thanks for minimizing the impact as long as possible.
@Taj: HAHAHA! Three times, you little minx. I love it. The more you say about The Warden (first the back porch randomness and now the abs of steel) the more I weep over him not having a brother. I'll have to stick with my local sources. Was that pole they marketed for little girls a Hello Kitty thing? I seem to recall something like that...
@Colleen: Doing jumping jacks is a good idea when you want to replace your wall art, isn't it? I swear, I need to install a trampoline room like Bill Gates has for his kids.
@Melissa: I tried it twice against my nephews. It was a swift defeat on both counts; in their favor.
@Tootsie: AMEN SISTER! Don't forget the rock star boyfriends who give her eyeliner application tips.
